I granted you administrator privileges. You should read the polices section of this wiki, and have fun. Wikiuser1 (talk) 13:22, 16 June 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This wiki[edit]

Is it part of WMF? Morenga (talk) 16:30, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Morenga: No, it uses the MediaWiki software, but it is run by Miraheze. -- Void Whispers 16:53, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

LabeledSectionTransclusion[edit]

Hello Void! Thank you for granting rights. I have a question. Is there an option to add LabeledSectionTransclusion parsers hook extension? --Sourcrowd (talk) 19:07, 4 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's not something Miraheze has enabled, however, the extension could be installed. If it's something you need, see meta:Phabricator. -- Void Whispers 19:13, 4 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I will check this out tomorrow, seems a little bit of work. --Sourcrowd (talk) 19:24, 4 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Whelp I stand corrected. -- Void Whispers 19:57, 4 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Very good cooperation :) --Sourcrowd (talk) 21:18, 4 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Global blocks[edit]

What's LTA? Did you notice that I was locally softblocking all of the proxies that I whitelisted? Primeferac (talk) 22:52, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

LTA = Long term abuse. They operate mostly by using accounts. It's not difficult to contact global staff about receiving global IP block exemptions, and locally, we can do the same thing if required. -- Void Whispers 22:55, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Username[edit]

I blocked User:Blah blah blah for two weeks due to blatant unhelpful tests. However, I was wondering if the username would be considered acceptable or not? Primeferac (talk) 23:22, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It's not disruptive on it's own, so I'd just leave it unless the account makes an action that would require extending the block. -- Void Whispers 23:24, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Unblock templates[edit]

Sorry if I'm pestering you, but I imported Template:Unblock, Template:Unblock on hold and Template:Unblock reviewed from the English Wikipedia. Can you help me clean them up? The documentation and other things look like junk with all of the wikilinks and templates etc. that don't go anywhere on this project. Primeferac (talk) 23:59, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

By the way, I just tripped an abuse filter because I tried to say the word cra(p) instead of "junk". Don't know why. Primeferac (talk) 00:02, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I can't find which filter would be doing that - the personal attacks one is not, and that's the only logical one I could think of. Primeferac (talk) 00:03, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Global filter 11. -- Void Whispers 01:21, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
First off, why would an anti-swearing filter be disallowing "cra(p)"? That's not a swear word. Second, why would a filter like that be global? Not all wikis will have an anti-swearing policy (although IMHO they should), and therefore shouldn't local wikis be able to disable global filters the same way they can disable global blocks? Primeferac (talk) 20:54, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Hmm. I'll suggest an alteration to the filter which should reduce the chances of false positives like this. (I've also noticed two other instances that the filter was not supposed to catch). The filter was designed to stop a LTA user, but it appears to be way to general. -- Void Whispers 21:11, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for anti-vandal fighting. I was just about to block when you beat me to it. I declined an abusive unblock request and revoked talk page access. Another troll out of the way. Primeferac (talk) 23:32, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I do also note that it appears abuse filter 5 isn't working properly, as it didn't stop the blanking of your talk page. Primeferac (talk) 23:34, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Huh, article_namespace != 3, there's the problem. -- Void Whispers 23:38, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Are you a checkuser?[edit]

Are you a checkuser? And if not, do you know any? I want the LP socks investigated. PokestarFan (talk) 23:16, 2 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It will get handled as soon as they have time. I am not currently a checkuser, although I think it may be possible to request that we have a non-staff checkuser on this wiki to handle situations like this. In the meantime, we must handle things as we have been. -- Void Whispers 23:49, 2 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Stop[edit]

Stop reverting my harmless tests. In fact, many of those actions were not even intended as tests, but were rather meant to de-clutter some of the interfaces here. Do not revert my actions without my prior permission unless they cause harm or other trouble to the project. -- Amanda (talk) 19:54, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ok, so first off, we generally don't delete things long term unless there is something seriously wrong with them, they are in the way of testing (I don't see how that applies to revisions/log entries), or (for pages only) when testing is finished. Also, there is generally very little wrong with clutter. Yeah, it's there, but is history that can remain there. It might be prudent to add a deletion policy with a few lines about that. However, what I said still stands. There is no reason to be making deletions outside of testing, and once testing is done, the page should be returned to its original status. Now, I must address your behavior.
  1. You are indefinitely prohibited from deleting revisions and log entries outside of testing and oversight-able material.
  2. You are indefinitely prohibited from blocking users outside of testing and genuine vandalism/spam.
  3. You are warned not to threaten users with blocks because you disagree with them.
Should you, or any account determined to be related you yours, perform any of the listed actions, your rights will be removed and you may be indefinitely blocked from editing the testwiki. My final words to you are this: This is a test wiki, you should be using it for testing purposes. It doesn't have to look pretty, and it doesn't have to function the way you want it to. -- Void Whispers 20:20, 26 April 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Main Page Problem[edit]

At TestWiki:Testing policy ,it said "do not block other users for over 2 hours as a test" but in the Main Page, it said "When blocking other users as a test, please don't keep the block active for more than 24 hours."Please help correcting it.--Asdfugil (talk) 05:20, 25 July 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The policies were changed after users were blocking others for too long. I will make the change. Reception123 (talk) 07:13, 25 July 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

83.28.185.195[edit]

Why did you reverted my edits? 13:55, 10 September 2017 (UTC)

Because it serves no purpose and is quite obtrusive. -- Void Whispers 16:15, 10 September 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Not done Hi please place a request on TestWiki:Request permissions. Thanks MacFan4000 (talk) 22:38, 17 November 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Unblocked template[edit]

Hello, I've imported the unblocked template from English Wikipedia, can you have a look and let me know if any cleanup is necessary? Kiko4564 (talk) 14:03, 11 May 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Spambots[edit]

There are quite a few of spambots on [1]. Is it okay if I block them all? Pkbwcgs (talk) 15:41, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'll be globally locking them all later today, so it's all the same to me. -- Void Whispers 15:53, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay, however, shall I still block them locally on this Wiki? Pkbwcgs (talk) 16:06, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Actually, I might go ahead with blocking as the list getting more and more bigger and the list is quite a lot. Is that okay? If it is, I will go ahead. Thanks for your previous reply. Pkbwcgs (talk) 16:37, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
And, they're all gone. You missed your window ;). (see SN). -- Void Whispers 21:47, 1 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for locking them. Hopefully, this should sort the problem. Pkbwcgs (talk) 11:01, 2 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I will now block IPs which spammed now and this should do the trick I hope. Pkbwcgs (talk) 11:03, 2 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Actually, just saw that you locked those too. Thanks for that. Pkbwcgs (talk) 11:04, 2 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You missed a few which I will do now. Pkbwcgs (talk) 11:09, 2 June 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

question about quakelike a duck[edit]

regarding his edits and the MediaWiki edits, what effect do they do? I'm looking at

them and I'm not sure what they do. Artix Kreiger (talk) 21:03, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
His edits were designed to make the interface become invisible to all users of the Vector skin, as well as hide additional special pages that were used to protect the edits that were made. -- Void Whispers 21:09, 8 September 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ok[edit]

I saw your comment. ok. Let me know if you wanted any explanation. Artix Kreiger (talk) 23:54, 11 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hello. Excuse me, can you please make a checkuser on User:Ptwcris because here seemed I that the user accidentally edited while logged out, just for confirmation, I made revdel on the revision where the user edited while logged out, and please can you CU the user and the IP just for confirmation if the user edited while logged out or not. Cheers :) --Psl631 (Let's Chat!) 18:08, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The checkuser tool is never used to tell if a user has edited logged out excepting certain rare circumstances. Instead we treat any possible personal information as actual personal information and remove it on sight. -- Void Whispers 18:34, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay, --Psl631 (Let's Chat!) 18:57, 23 February 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

User talk:Artix Kreiger#July 2020[edit]

I was hoping for a 2nd opinion on RhinoF1's opinion. Thank you. Artix Kreiger (talk) 14:26, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi, I'd just like to point out that you could have appealed your block via your talk page or email which were both left open. Your comment violated our code of conduct and my position remains that if you are willing to contribute then your rights will be restored. RhinosF1 (talk) 17:32, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
As a fellow consul I would like to point out that I agree with RhinosF1 on this matter. Asking someone what is wrong with them is very disrespectful and has no place on TestWiki. --Reception123 (talk) 18:28, 20 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

User:BrandonWM[edit]

Hi, thanks for having a prompt look at the block I made on User:BrandonWM. Since I restored his sysop status, it wasn't a functional block anyway, as he could simply unblock himself. On that note, can I please ask if I can revoked someone's sysop status when blocking them please? It seems sensible to be able to do so since without revoking sysop, the block isn't functional. Thanks. Kiko4564 (talk) 11:33, 28 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It makes sense in the situation where a block is applied to put a stop to ongoing and serious disruption. In pretty much every other case, it should be left for the community or a consul. -- Void Whispers 21:21, 28 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
In which case I assume that one shouldn't place a serious block on another sysop at all save for in the former case? Thanks. Kiko4564 (talk) 23:05, 29 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
