Thanks for restoring those pages I deleted. From now on I won't do things I don't know how to revert.

HeartsDo (talkcontribs)

Responded on your user page. But no problem.

Please, I want to retain the right for now

Dmehus (talkcontribs)

Welcome back. Message me on IRC when you're going to be more active on Meta Wiki regarding a potential position for which you would be well suited, I think, we talked about in the spring. :)

Summary by Anton

I didn't notice that the IP address edits had been removed.

Anton (talkcontribs)

Hey. On what grounds have you block this? Even the cause of vandalism? If IP is vandalizing Meta (and not TestWiki), it's completely pointless to block him on TestWiki (if he hasn't made any edits here). That would be the same then blocked globally? Nor does Wikipedia do that if someone vandalizes English Wikipedia, they will be blocked immediately on Spanish Wikipedia. How do you plan or want to comment on your situation?

Anton (talkcontribs)

My apologies. I didn't notice the look that his edits here had been removed from view... sorry., False alarm.

Translating system messages

Summary by HeartsDo

Thanks to Dmehus to have respond to this! :p

Anton (talkcontribs)

Hi! I have noticed that some function pages are in English and my mother tongue is Finnish. May I translate some system messages into Finnish? It would happen by adding something like this: /fi, then the Finnish language will come. --Anton (talk) 07:00, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

Dmehus (talkcontribs)

Anton Which interface messages? Most interface messages should be translated on translatewiki.net, which are updated on Miraheze every week, unless it is something that is very specific to Miraheze or localized to this wiki.

Anton (talkcontribs)

Okay. I will translate somewhere on Translatewiki :)

Incidentally, I have read the bureaucrat-guide. Can I become a bureaucrat now? --Anton (talk) 07:12, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

Dmehus (talkcontribs)

Yeah, if it's default MediaWiki interface messages, then translatewiki.net is the best place for translations, but if it's a specific page or message unique to TestWiki (i.e., like MediaWiki:Group-consul), then you can create a language subpage of that interface message here. Hope that makes sense

Dmehus (talkcontribs)

Anton  Sure. Please continue to make sure you are following all policies and know that bureaucrat is, ultimately, a more senior, trusted testing permission. Ultimately, Consuls are the de facto non-test administrators on TestWiki and they, together with the community at TestWiki:Community portal, guide this wiki. If granting permissions, please try and link to the diff page of the given user's request when granting rights, and only grant rights upon request. --Dmehus (talk) 07:21, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

Anton (talkcontribs)

This is how I work! Thank you very much for your trust. --Anton (talk) 07:34, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

Request for Removing My Autopatrolled Right

Summary by HeartsDo

For me, the discussion is  Done, if you want to continue to discuss, can you please do it somewhere else please ? Thanks ! :)

Redmin (talkcontribs)

Hi, as you are aware, I have resigned my rights following Dmehus's notice on my talk page. I am not currently interested in having any advanced rights on this wiki. As such, I am requesting you to remove it as soon as possible. Thank you.

Redmin (talkcontribs)

And I suspect the Consuls might want to patrol my edits, too. Thanks.

Dmehus (talkcontribs)

For the record, no, I think I can safely speak for all Consuls, we do not need to patrol your edits. As part of our responsibilities, we review all test and non-test log actions and edits by all users—regardless of any advanced rights they may hold. So, the fact that revisions are patrolled or unpatrolled does not matter. In any case, I remembered that autopatrol is included within the autoconfirmed implicit user group, per a community proposal at TestWiki:Community portal. So, you're right that there's no need for this user group, as you are certainly autoconfirmed here. Thank you for your service

Redmin (talkcontribs)

"I remembered that autopatrol is included within the autoconfirmed implicit user group, per a community proposal at TestWiki:Community portal. " You certainly know that is not what I meant by having no need for this group. But we have had this discussion before and I am not interested in having that again. Hope you understand. Thank you.

HeartsDo (talkcontribs)

If you insist, this is now  Done ! :p
